Christine Taylor

Christine is a multi-faceted musician, having begun piano studies at age five, violin at nine, flute at twelve, and voice at sixteen. In 2009 she graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance under the tutelage of Linda Mabbs, soprano. She has sung as a professional chorister in the Middle East, Great Britain, South America, and the United States with notable orchestras such as the National Symphony Orchestra and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, with whom she performed twice yearly from 2008 until 2022. Christine has also been a church musician since 1994 working as soprano section leader in several Episcopal and Catholic churches in the DC Metro area. 

In 2021 Christine began graduate studies in music at the University of Maryland, studying organ with Dr. Theodore Guerrant. She now resides in Benton Harbor, MI, and is the Associate Organist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, St. Joseph, MI and at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, Benton Harbor, MI. Christine also maintains a private studio in her home teaching both voice and piano.

Christine is a consummate promoter of women composers and has included works composed by women in two organ recitals and tries to program at least one woman composer into each church service she plays.
