
Wendy Rose
Wendy Rose has been a member of the Kalamazoo arts community for over 30 years. She received a diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada, a Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Bassoon Performance from the University of Michigan. Dr. Rose was a Professor of Music at Western Michigan University from 1993-2024 where she taught bassoon, music theory, aural skills, and chamber music. She has taught and performed in summer programs at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Saugatuck Chamber Music Festival, and Fontana Chamber Arts, and has performed in orchestras throughout the USA and Canada. Dr. Rose has presented master classes at universities and conservatories in the USA, Latin America, Europe, and China. She currently teaches kindergarten music at Kalamazoo Christian Elementary School and loves working with music students of all ages.
